Il y a environ huit ans, au centre de santé de Mobengui à Kinshasa, une maman m’a amené sa petite fille d’un an qui souffrait d’une hypotonie généralisée. La petite Précieuse était toute molle et incapable de bouger un bras ou une jambe, de tourner la tête ou d’émettre un son. Je promets alors à la maman de mettre un transat dans le prochain container afin d’éviter les escarres. Lors de notre séjour suivant à Kinshasa, je demande à l’infirmière Maman Patricia de contacter la maman de Précieuse pour lui donner le transat. Et j’ai vu arriver la petite fille avec son grand frère Amram, âgé d’environ 15 ans, qui m’a annoncé le décès de leur maman. Amram aimait beaucoup sa petite sœur mais se demandait comment il allait pouvoir s’en occuper. Précieuse avait des escarres et était malnutrie.
